School Highlights

Aldro is an outstanding boys’ paradise where they are nurtured, challenged and fulfilled in equal measure, discovering and growing in talents aplenty, ready to leave secure in their own identity.

Our scholarship boards speak for themselves – boys go on to all the top senior schools, and 2019 looks like being a very good year for scholarship awards (57).

Aldro Sport – This year saw the official opening of the cricket nets by ex England, Surrey and  Director of Cricket at Charterhouse School, Martin Bicknell. Numerous trophies were won for Football, Rugby, Rugby 7’s, Hockey and Cricket. One Aldro boy won Gold for Great Britain to become GB’s youngest Rackleton World Champion.

Music – 85% of Aldro boys play at least one instrument.

Head's Up

“To help achieve our vision for Aldro, we will:

Strive for academic excellence; seek to develop a love of learning for boys within a broad and contemporary curriculum that offers a wide range of opportunities for extra-curricular activities. Develop, coach, mentor and train a committed and highly motivated staff team”

Chris Carlier (from September 2019)

Inside Scoop

Behind the scenes access from the schools themselves with unique parent reviews

A Parent's Perspective

We initially chose Aldro because quite honestly there is no other school like it! We have twin boys who are true little lads who wear their hearts on their sleeves and we quickly realised that they were going to be allowed to be themselves at Aldro. Tom and Harry are sport mad and so the standard of sport at Aldro was also a key factor. Guy Drayton, the Director of Sport, has an amazing manner with the boys and has personally helped Tom and Harry with their extremely competitive nature! As parents we are incredulous that whilst refereeing matches he is able to learn the names of the opposition too!

Tom and Harry are in their fourth year at Aldro and are very happy. Teachers are very quick to notice when they are not feeling confident and are able to reassure them and get them back on track. Pastoral Care has just got better and better in my opinion.

I am currently co-chair or the Friends of Aldro Association. I can honestly say that Aldro parents are a really friendly bunch and I am making life long friends. There are some really popular parent events like the Quiz Night and Summer Party as well as family events such as the Regatta, Family Fun Day and Christmas Fair.

If you are looking for a school tailored for boys where boys are allowed to be boys – then look no further!
