The school has an excellent track record of 100% pass rate to date with 98% of pupils qualifying for university entrance. A post-matric A level course will be introduced in 2020 and from 2022, A levels will run parallel with the IEB curriculum.

Membership of the Round Square organisation provides international exchange and conference opportunities with schools across the world. The President’s (Duke of Edinburgh) Award is undertaken by all Grade 8 pupils, many of whom go on to achieve Silver and Gold level. Sporting opportunities, in a wide variety of individual and team sports, take place in excellent facilities on our beautiful campus. Dynamic cultural departments offer opportunities in music, dance, drama and art from Grade 8 to 12.

Head's Up

“Standing out for all the right reasons, Bridge House has remained a welcoming, innovative, cosmopolitan and creative school, which offers students broad exposure to multiple opportunities for growth. The relationships between teachers and students is key to the school’s success: neither wants to let the other down, and we are energised by others’ accomplishments.”

A Parent's Perspective

Five years ago I was moving back to South Africa from New Zealand and was looking at all the schooling options in and around Cape Town. I had family members and friends whose children had attended Bridge House and it was an obvious one to have on my ‘list’. I was looking for both a school that had an all round offering as well as one that was located in a safe beautiful part of the Western Cape.

A few of the things that were important to me were, the IEB syllabus as my children had followed a similar curriculum abroad, the smaller class sizes (as we were moving to a new town and country), that it was a co-ed school as I have a boy and a girl, and a general all-round offering as I have two children with rather different needs but wanted them in one school.

The school’s mantra is “can do” and this really is not just something they put on a poster – they live by that! The essence is finding each child’s strength and nurturing this that is really lived by the school and teachers. My words from the inside track would be that the school offers so many ‘opportunities’ from the big obvious things like sports, camps etc but also so many little extra experiences everyday that are not spoken about but that all make up a critical part of our children’s education. An example of this is that on Tuesday, they dissected a snake at lunchtime for those who wanted to watch!! How fabulous is that!
