Inside Scoop from a current parent

Tring Park School has a superb track record of nurturing talented young people to excel, not only in their chosen vocational discipline but also in their academic studies. Class sizes are small ensuring individualised attention and creating every opportunity for each child to fulfil his or her potential. Attending an Open Day for prospective parents is a must, you observe the children immersed in their daily routine and can truly see and ‘feel’ that this is a happy place.

My son has been a student at the school for nearly three years and is thriving in all respects; vocationally, academically and personally. He is developing into a well-rounded, grounded young adult – this is true of so many of the students. Chat to the students at Tring and you will find them polite, humble, and passionate about their school and at ease chatting to adults.

As a parent, I know that the school genuinely strives to create a caring, nurturing environment. Any issues, be they as simple as being homesick or as complicated as an injury are quickly recognised and solutions agreed. A child away from home can be a difficult family adjustment for all, this was made easier for me when I quickly came to see that the houseparents for the Boys’ Boarding House genuinely care for the children.

Make no mistake the children here have to be tough and focused, it is a long school day demanding a dedication and desire for excellence. However, the superb teaching across all disciplines ensures my son is highly motivated, intellectually curious, tenacious, resilient and, above all else, happy!
