Head's Up

Twyford is a very special School. We put the happiness and fulfilment of each and every child at the centre of all we do. We recognise that every child has unique gifts and we believe that the overtly positive and encouraging educational environment which exists at Twyford enables our pupils to flourish and thrive.

Inside Scoop from a current parent

We chose Twyford because we genuinely felt that the school would bring out the best in our children. The school setting is gorgeous; exquisite grounds, lots of space and great facilities. There are opportunities for our children to gain a variety of experiences outside of the curriculum. Pre-Prep is very family focused and as parents we always feel very involved with the children and their learning. The Prep school encourages more independence whilst maintaining excellent pastoral care.

Sport is important to us and the fact that the children are encouraged to be outside and active everyday right from Nursery is a real positive. Our two children are fit, active and enjoy a range of sports. The positive messages coming home regarding exercise are impressive. My 8 year-old commented when I was tired as we were playing a game of rounders, “Come on mummy your body will not let you down only your brain!”

The children are encouraged to try new things and to not fear failure which is vital. Academically the school promotes a good work ethic and a love of learning and both my children enjoy their classes. The teaching staff are exceptional, they encourage the children to perform at their best and do so in a kind and caring manner. The children have hugely grown in confidence, with a desire to learn, a willingness to try, a belief in their own potential and the ability to study independently; we love that they love going to School.

As a key worker during the COVID-19 pandemic I was overwhelmed by the way the school responded, and their kindness towards us and our children. The communication was timely and informative and the positivity of the teachers remaining at work was inspirational. Thank you.

Most importantly Twyford children are happy, polite, engaging and confident. We noticed this on our first visit to look around the school and it has borne out over the past 5 years watching our children progress through the school.

As Parents, We Love...

  • The approach – A great balance of developing a healthy mind, body and spirit and to see each child as an individual.
  • The pupils - Almost every unplanned encounter with a Twyford pupil is positive: they somehow manage to be polite, kind and confident without being arrogant or dismissive
  • The teachers – We have been impressed by the kind, sensitive and excellent staff creating a safe and nurturing environment with a strong emphasis on pastoral care.

Our Children Love...

  • The inspiring teachers who are really kind
  • All the sport we play
  • The food – it’s always delicious and there’s so much choice.
